My son came home from school today with this snack mix and I think it would make a wonderful gift! I'm just not sure I like everything in it. How would you tweak this recipe, either the food item or the symbolism?

American Blessings Mix

Bugles: Horn or plenty; a symbol of our nations abundunce
Pretzels: Arms folded in prayer, a freedom sought by the founders of our country
Candy Corn: Sacrifices of the Pilgrim's first winter; settlers could have only a few kernals of corn
Nuts: Promise of a future harvest; one will only reap if you sow
Raisins: Harvest gifts to our bountiful land
M&M's: Memories of those who came before us to guide us to a blessed future
Hershey Kiss: The love of family and friends that sweetens our lives

Hmmm, I would have to leave out the raisins....but only because I don't like them. I love all of the other ingredients.
It is a cute idea. I might just steal it!

The kids and I are going to make this to give to our friends & family at Thanksgiving Dinner. I think we will leave out the candy corns & the M&M's. I really don't get the M&M's one! Or maybe switch the choc. kiss line to the M&M's and leave out the kisses....
