Hey folks. New to the forum. Looks pretty cool (am I dating myself with that statement). I work for a Christian radio station that has decided to change our format to Classic CCM (70's, 80's, and early 90's). I wasn't really into CCM back then and am looking for some resources to help us identify the songs we should be playing. I've found TopChristianHits.org, but they have quite a bit missing. I'd really like to get my hands on either the CCM charts or R&R charts for CCM (I'm not even sure R&R did CCM back then). Anyone have any idea how I could find archives for these? I'd really like an online source. I've checked the local libraries and nothing doing.

Best of luck to you. Does the station have a webcast? I'd love to hear it.

I don't know where to start looking for what you need. One starting place might be "The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music" by Mark Allen Powell. It doesn't have charts, but does have "hits" noted at the end of articles about those artists who have been on the charts. It's a roundabout way of getting what you need, but it might work. You can order the book on Amazon.

Again, good luck - that's a pretty brave format change. Let us know if we can listen online.

Wish I was in your area. I'd like to see that (or at least one that plays a mix of those decades as well as more recent stuff) since where I live is saturated with secular "oldies" stations.

Try to see if you can get old copies of either CCM Magazine or their now defunct CCM Chart Update instead.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that much of the information in the "Encyclopedia of CCM" is taken from CCM magazine - and I'm guessing the chart positions I mentioned are from the magazine's charts.
