I am so thankful to God for His provision. I took my car to get the oil changed. The men at the church have a vehicle ministry for single women, you buy the oil, they change it and inspect it. My car has been rattling, and I expected that they would tell me what need to be done. I came down to see how things were going and they had replaced my brakes ... for free! I had no idea they were going to do this ... they saw the problem, someone went out to buy the parts , and replaced them in a very short period of time. Apparently they were worn all the way down. It did not take care of the rattle so they continued to brain storm. They finally realized it was the ball baring, and worn tie rod, which was beyond the scope of the ministry, so several of the men went back and forth as to who would have the privilege (and they were not being sarcastic) of fixing my car at their shop for, again, no cost. They insist that I not pay at this time ... and since I have not officially started my new position, this is a blessing indeed.

What a very special and unexpected blessing. Thank you Father.

I'm really, really, really thankful for my daughter. She's such a brilliant little girl. She's also so much fun to be with. She's smart, very articulate, and her curiosity is amazing. She's also very sweet and very loving. Today, she made me a bookmark made up of the picture of my newest sponsored child. She said that she did it so I will always remember the child because she knows I read a lot. I'm just blown away by her most of the time. When I look at her, I am overwhelmed with thanksgiving. God really did blessed me with an amazing child.

Does anyone else feel like this about their kids? I mean, don't get me wrong, there are times when I want to strangle her, lol. But those times are far and few in between.

I'm thankful for my son, also, who has grown into a wonderful God-fearing man. He stands up for his convictions and I'm proud of that, even when they're different from my own.

Tonight I'm thankful for Godly men and women who have written books that can be used as a guide in daily practice. This particular book is drawing me much closer to a full Biblical Counseling theory that I can adopt as my own. The other book was poorly written and I felt as though I wanted to reject the whole thing based on his work. This new book is so well-written and well-researched that I have no problems whatsoever. And there don't seem to be any gaps that I can tell.

I'm also thankful for all the good people who hangs out in the faithwalk and general faith folders. I've been going there quite a bit lately and I'm learning a lot. I'm also thankful to everyone to rushed to defend Reverend Billy Graham.

I thank God for the BLAST my vertically challenged friends and I had tonight during 3rd grade ministry. I'm also thankful that even though I had 18 kids and neither of my helpers showed up the night went smoothly.

I don't really know why this is, but today I feel especially thankful for freedom of worship. There are at least 5 churches within a 1 mile radius of my home, and I am free to worship in any, all, or none of them, my choice.

I am thankful for people who don't just volunteer in children's ministry because they "should" or because someone asked them to do it, but because they truly enjoy children!

I am very thankful to see Jim at church today. He is the homeless man that attends our church. He sits at the very back. This man doesn't know how much of a blessing he's been to me. During the time when coffee was free at the church, he was the only man I ever saw put donations in the coffee tin. Though no one pays attention to him, or even knows him, I'm sure he is very much loved in the community. I asked him if he's had a cup of coffee yet so I can buy him one, but he just smiled and said he's ok. I think the weather got too cold that's why he was in there and I pray all the time that I'll be seeing him there every Sunday. He's the one man that stirred my heart to volunteer in our homeless shelter and soup kitchen. I just hope that he'll be able to find shelter during the 6 months of severe winter. I think he doesn't want to be a burden to anyone and though he graciously accepts help, he probably doesn't feel that he needs them. My heart just cries for people like him.

I am thankful to the Father for our new children ministry worship leader. I am thankful to see 70+ kids singing unto the Lord with raised hands. I am thankful for all of the teachers that serve the children in our church. ( even the ones who were giggling and poking fun at me while I was trying to learn the new hand signals)

I use to teach our junior dancers (liturgical dance) ... lot's of hand motions. We would teach the whole church our songs and invite them to join us. I always loved watching the men come out and dance with the children.

I am thankful for those wonderful memories, and I am thankful that I serve a God who is in the business of creating more memories to cherish.

(One of my favorite memories was when we were teaching the children to pray. We had this thing we called the "Mush Pot" where the person you were praying for sat in the middle and everyone gathered around to pray for them. One day, I was to be the recipient of those prayers, and sat in the "Mush Pot" waiting in anticipation. Suddenly, Andrew, who was five at the time, jumped into my lap and began to kiss me everywhere! I wasn't sure quite what to do and then he suddenly looked up and said, "You're in the Mush Pot and I'm being mushy!" That boy could melt my heart ... Thank Lord for precious memories!)

FOr now and always, I am and will be thankful to God for providing me with a best friend who is a confidant and a mentor. She is such an amazing person and a true woman of God.

Oh, and she's loads of fun, and she gets my humor and quirks. She has to be God sent, lol!

I'm thankful for some beautiful weather today. I had the opportunity to sit outside for a while... it was just too bright to do my reading.

I'm thankful that I get a better signal in my car and can now listen to the AM Christian station on my way to work, listening to the morning guy I've been listening to for about 15 years now!! The signal's not so great out here, but if I can deal with static, I can be fed in the mornings again.

I am so thankful some changes took place in my job making it a much less stressful place for me. The owners of the company I work for...they are good people but can be so stern. The new boss hired to managed us reporting in is a wonderful man and he took me to coffee, as he is doing for all his people. He listened to my feedback about the place and he gave some advice to me in a gentle way (some admonishment) ...then unexpectantlly, he pulled out a StarBucks gift card for 25 dollars and thanked me for the good job I am doing. I had been there late at night many times, making uncomfortable phone calls...uncomfortable visits to some customers...last ones ones got drunk at lunch...and started going OVER my quota each month. I heard ZERO compliments. ZERO. Just heard about all the things I did wrong. I was getting too emotional and when I tried to talk to the old boss...it backfired as I think I was too defensive. I prayed and fasted and prayed something might chage.

And this new boss comes along and is hand off in mgmt style and he expresses already so much gratefulness for my hard work! He also said "I pray to God" when we were talking work...and I wondered if he might be a believer....

God is so so so faithful. I prayed for ovr 6 moths and out of the blue, new boss came. I had a feeling that might happen but I stopped trusting my gut feelings as there was no evidence and i began to doubt. But God still sent a new boss.

I just wrote a lame-o thankfulness post...I have not the words to express.

I'm thanking God that I had a house to come home to tonight. When I came home from work tonight my parents were telling me about a major problem with the wood stove. We just had it installed and apparently something wasn't working quite right with it because as soon as they started a fire in it the whole downstairs started filling up with smoke. They got it under control and called the guy out who installed it and had him fix it. It got me thinking and feeling very thankful that I have never experienced a house fire.
