Had a great concert last night with Voices Won and Triumphant Quartet in Dalton, Georgia. Got to see Dana (rogasinger4Him) as well - but didn't hear hiim sing. Bobby York was also there. It was the first night of Voices Won's homecoming and they really sang well. Their mom, Regina Rogers opened the concert with a few songs and then sang one with two of her sons before Voices Won came on and did their first set. Triumphant also sang very well and sang a couple of songs I really wasn't expecting. Both of the groups performed two sets and at the end of the second set, a young lady named Bethany was saved during the altar call that Eric gave! I did get some videos and some pictures but I'm going to save them and put together something with VW, Triumphant, Mark Bishop, and Karen Peck & New River after tonight's concert.

I just posted a whole bunch of stuff about Greater Vision's PraiseFest this week (5 "concerts"). It's in the Just Everyday People thread.

I went to a great concert with the Perrys last night. I'll post about it on my blog when I have time to do a write-up...but for an unusual reason, I may have to hold off for 2 or 3 days.

Went to an interesting concert last night. It was in a beautifully decorated 'barn' at an apple orchard in Lula, GA. It featured The Homeland Boys and The Marksmen. In fact, it was kind of an unofficial Marksmen reunion. (Jerry Phillips, HLB owner is a Marksmen alumni.) Keith "Granny" Chambers was there. Seems like I heard that another alum was there, but I'm not really for sure. The building was packed - probably about 350 or more there. It was very exciting, and everyone really seemed to enjoy the mix of Southern & Bluegrass that these two fine groups bring to the stage. Got to see many old friends from back in the 80s when I played for The Saxons, a family group from Lula, GA. Nothing like 'old-home-week', you know!

So you wanted it to be post #1000? Might as well!! That's quite an accomplishment. It's gonna take me a while to write up my thoughts on the 2 days of Voices Won homecoming concerts from this weekend. I took a lot of video and it'll take a while to process since I'm really gonna try to do some compilations with my new video editting software that has NOT been user friendly!! I might try to go ahead and post one or two whole videos in the meantime, OK?

I just got back from the Gaither homecoming in Sacramento, CA. It was great! It was my first time seeing Jason Crabb in person, and then seeing him with the GVB was sort of a dream come true as well. Anyway they sounded great together, and I think he won over the crowd as soon as he started singing "Through the fire." Some of the highlights: Gordon Mote: I think he is extremely underrated as a singer. He blew his 3 songs out of the water tonight, along with playing the piano like no ones business. I especially liked his version of "I can't even walk" and "Don't let me miss the Glory." Signature Sound: Let me just say that I really wasn't a big fan of these guys( and I still don't like the dancing), but tonight they did a bunch of songs around 2 mikes and all of them were fantastic. The highlight for me was "Since Jesus Passed By." Jason Crabb: Through the Fire- My favorite song he sings, and it was the only time I have gotten to hear it live!! GVB: They sang several songs from their last couple of albums, but my favorites were: Satisfied Heaven's joy awaits. It is finished( Marsh and Jason did awesome on this, and had the crowd applauding through each of their verses) Daystar Because he Lives( this was everyone, but Wes, Gordon, and Jason took the verses) Anyway It was a great evening, and now I get L5 on friday!!!!!
