I'm sure you knew this, because I think I've told you this before. You share you're bday with the Marine Corps.

As I recall, that is how FreddyMark used to remember her b'day...

Hi Sharon.

We've got scales. I don't know where from, but it's telling me that I've lost a little bit of weight. In any case, it's only a couple of pounds.

A couple of pounds is a couple of pounds. You've got to start somewhere!

What Maggie said! My dad's all depressed again, but yesterday he was able to stand and put his weight on his foot for the first time in more than a month. Can't get him to see what an improvement that is. Please pray that he doesn't give up hope, he's starting to sound like he is.

Bill, will definitely pray that your dad is surrounded by signs of hope. And that's TERRiFiC that he can put his weight on his foot!
Hope truly does motivate and boost the will to fight, and the strength to do it.

Ah, FreddyMark. Yes, Mark always pm'd and emailed about the birthday of the Marines and mine being the same.
Still miss him. Very much.

Trish, as my doc told me, DOWN is a good thing, no matter the amount. At least it's heading in the right direction.

I miss Freddy Mark too. He used to post once a day in my birthday thread for en entire month so it would last

Bill, I'll pray for your dad, that he will be encouraged by the small steps.

I know i have a Christmas card from him in my box of Christmas cards. I'm sure I"ll pull it out, read his special message, and start crying again, just like I did the last two years.

Thought I would put FreddyMark's face in my avatar today since we are reminiscing about him.

It over 2 years now. It just doesn't seem possible.

Isn't it funny how folks will just pop up like that?

Their memories are just under the surface and then bubble up.

(((Sharon))) Just 'cause I've been thinking about you even when I'm not here.

And, I think I just compared Freddy-Mark to a stinker, which seems appropriate somehow...

Bill . . . I started to ask about your father yesterday in that ramblin' thread.
After reading your post here, I have prayed that he absolutely does not give up hope and that he can feel Our Lord's presence in his life. I've also just now prayed for Our Lord's Peace and Comfort for you, as well.

Trish - please don't ever negate a weight loss. You've got to encourage yourself; not discourage yourself.

Freddie would come hunting for me to ask how things were going in my marriage. He was so faithful to pray for it. I still send a Christmas card to his family. Don't know if they have a clue who I am but oh well.

That's great Maggie that you still send. I'm going to send again this year too.

(((((Momma_Bee))))) Thank you for the hug. Today my thoughts were with Angie and her mom as Angie was going to be getting the new chemo. The sitting time, while it drips in is 4 hours. Plus she had to be there early for some blood work. Mary was going to take lunch to her from Panera Bread. Yum!

I wonder if I still have his address. I've been through so many computers in the last few years that I don't know if I still have the old addresses.

(((((Momma_bee))))) I can't tell you how much it touched me to see your note at Caringbridge. I was at work and filing downstairs and thought I would check my email there while upstairs and saw notification of an update from Angie.
Thank you for your love and prayers and support.
I love you too.

For those who are not connected to the site I mentioned, this is what Angie posted today:

Hi All,

The days (and nights) are getting increasingly more difficult as I am growing weaker. I'm expending all my energy on breathing. I'm down to 96 pounds. Visiting nurse was just here. My vital signs are good but I asked for a hospital bed to be brought in to my family room. Things will go easier for to not have to go upstairs. I wasn't very comfortable in bed last night and the recliner downstairs was only mildly helpful. The bed will be coming tomorrow. I do welcome visitors. Talking is a little difficult for me but I can flash a good smile and squeeze a hand. I've decided not to have more chemo. I just couldn't tolerate it.
I can't believe how quick this all went downhill on me--like I had the rug pulled right out from under me.
There are paintings I've yet to finish-we'll see if I'm granted the strength to do so.
Time for a breathing treatment.

Love you all,
Angie

I'm home from work now and deciding what I am going to do about getting down there.

Thank you all for your continued prayers.
