The big discussion around our house is if you should celebrate holidays if you are missing someone.

Poppa's Mom passed the night before Thanksgiving, 19 years ago. They had dinner together the next day and I'll bet it was rough but everyone said that she would have wanted them to be together. We've been talking about it because I have a friend who has had her own loss and she is going out to a resturant and a movie with her immediate family so that she doesn't need to see an empty chair. Poppa is of the opinion that you always miss people who aren't there, regardless of the reason.

This has been on my mind for about a month now and I've been thinking of you as you approach the holidays (((SHARON)))

I want you to know I am praying for you and Josh. I really feel the need to tell you that you have to do what is right for you, no matter what. It just keeps coming back into my head that I should say that and I hope you don't mind me just posting.

..... Hey Sharon.

Popping in to tell you that I am praying for you and yours....

(((((Angie!)))))

You know... I was working on crocheting a hat for my sister for Christmas.... and working on that hat made me think of all the people who are fighting for their lives (I think there is a hat ministry somewhere where you can crochet or knit hats for those who've lost their hair).... my thoughts lead me to Angie.

Blessings, my friend.

My best friend's little sister, Annie, was undergoing chem for her leukemia. My mom had found a great pattern for felt hats, kind of a beret style. So she made her one. Annie preferred the baldness ... it was less to mess with and less to argue with mom about. But the hat was nice for winter. And the hats were so fashionable ... she loved them.

I've always liked the idea of a blanket / shawl ministry.

The idea being to remind you that you are covered in prayer.

Oh Sharon! I just saw what you posted the other day from Angie. I didn't realize she was doing so poorly. I'm sorry to hear that. {{{{{{{{{Sharon}}}}}}}}

Momma Bee, Poppa is a wise man (I know he learned it all from you). Life has to continue, no matter how difficult.

There is also a pillow ministry. I really don't "get" that one but some obviously do.

Hmm, blankets and pillows? Truthfully, the chance to sleep in could be a ministry to someone. I may nap as a show of support...

I usually refer to fellow as a wise-guy, but that is different.

Thank you all for your hugs, thoughts and prayers. They are much appreciated.

I'm doing okay, really, I want you to know that. I have my moments and I may not be as talkative as usual, (that alone puts my family in alert mode, LOL!)

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was good. I enjoyed seeing Josh & Anoush and decided we should do a little dance together and work off some of that food from today.

edit to add: it might load a little slow for some but it'll show up.
