I missed last night's episode. Can someone give me a summary of what happened? Thank you!

Honestly, you didn't miss much. I didn't care for the episode. Starbuck finds a cyclon ship with one survivor, Leoben. He wants to team up to fight the other cylons and find Earth. The crew is ready to mutiny, as they are supposed to rejoin the fleet. Baltar is gaining more and more power. The chief sides with Baltar and ignores his crying child some more. dH said that the Nicky character really bothers him. We have a 13 month old boy, and to see a child given so little love, so ignored, is very unpleasant.

Last night's episode ("Faith" May 9th) was one of the best ever. This season has been consistently good so far, but that one was the first time it reached the heights of the debut of Season three. If the woman who plays the president isn't nominated for an Emmy (and she won't be), there's no justice in the world.

Mary McDonnald plays President Roslin, and Mary herself lost her sister to cancer. That was a killer episode; I'm really happy to see the plot starting to move along. The last scene between Roslin and Adama was amazing. It's startling how many times a man may tell a woman he loves her, without actually saying the words.

Right now this is one of the best things about the show. Ronald D More, the executive producer and creator of the modern BSG, agrees with you about this. I sometimes listen to the podcasts, which are his personal commentaries of an episode. Time and time again, he has said that the Laura/Bill relationship is one of, if not his favorite thread of this season. All the more heartbreaking and ironic, that in many ways the cancer is both pushing them together and ripping them apart. I've spoken with some people who've been affected by cancer themselves, and they were in tears during many of the scenes between Mary McDonald and Nana Vistor (from Deep Space Nine).

Yes, it's bizarre that one of the better depictions of a character dealing with cancer on TV comes from a Sci-Fi show . This show never ceases to surprise me, though. It's the only thing I watch on TV right now(Except for the office), which says a lot as I usually hate both TV dramas and TV sci-fi shows.

Anybody still watching? Last night's episode was amazing. I absolutely loved Roslin's "death" scene, and Bill taking off his ring to put it on her finger. And the reunion scene at the end? Just beautiful. Of course, now that they've told each other how they feel and they're together, you know it's all gonna hit the fan. She's still dying after all.

Yup. I liked the jump induced visions Laura had. That was really a neat way to add to the storyline.

Oh, I love that Bill and Laura have their happily-ever-after, even if it's short lived. The episode was really trippy, what with that whole thing with the visions, Laura going back and forth over whether or not she was going to let Baltar die etc.

This doesn't happen often (especially in sci-fi), but the Adama/Roslin thing had me a little misty by the end. The trippyness was great, though a little confusing. The battle & execution of the plan had me really into it. Sometimes the show does things that don't necessarily pull you in, but not last night. I think we've one more episode before the long mid-season gap...

The saving of Laura's soul via Gaius Balter. Who'd thunk? And yes, next week's episode is the last one before a long break. Should be a real doozy next week, though.

Well, it's a whole new world now, isn't it? Or should I say, a post-apocalyptic, nuclear war world? My goodness, that was something else.

Wow. That was insane. I LOVED the final shot of the humans and Cylons wandering around in complete, dumbstruck, silence. No music, no dialogue, no nothing. I also very much have a "and now what?" feel about the series, though. I really have no idea where they are going to go with this. It seems like they have no other options but to stay on earth now. I don't think they can keep the same structure that the show has maintained up until this point, though, as all the basic plot points have either been cut short or resolved. Of course we still need to find out who the final Cylon is, how Kara resurrected, etc, but it seems like the series has just been entirely reset so the writers can basically do what ever they want at this point. I hate that there will be no new episodes until 2009!

It might be that the entire Earth isn't as bad as the major city we saw, or they could always try going back to Kobol. I think there are still options. I still don't want Roslin to die. But yeah, lots of loose ends to wrap up.

I have been watching this show ever since it started and last night left me empty. I'm like ok, they made it to earth and by the looks of it humanity destroyed itself. My guess is next season(I thought this was the last season) the humans and the skin jobs are going to rebuild humanity on earth. Also, at this point I really don't care who the 5th cylon is. Every week same thing, "All will be revealed" and nothing. I think it's either Kara, Roslin, or Lee

Every week same thing, "All will be revealed" and nothing. I think it's either Kara, Roslin, or Lee It didn't exactly leave me empty, but there was a slight feeling of anti-climax. Someone pointed out to me all that there is yet to reveal: The Opera House…what is it and what is going on there with Athena, Roslin, 6, and Baltar? What is so special about Hera? What about Caprica 6 and Tigh's completely Cylon Child? How did a Colonial transponder end up on Earth? What is Kara's fate now? How did Kara survive? Where are the "bad" Cylons? Who or what helped Galactica find Earth (via Starbuck and the final 4)? Why were the final 4 triggered and who did that?...how? What's up with this whole god(s) thing? Finally, who is the 5th? Also, this season is split up into "4.0" and "4.5" like some of the other seasons were. I hate that it means the DVDs cost more, but we'll get the rest of the final season in '09. Apparently they refuse to air the show during the fall network premiere season, as they did w/ season 3. (and got some of their lowest ratings)

Quoting a bit here that I saw posted on another forum's BSG thread, in regards to the Final Cylon... quote:
So, if De'Anna wasn't lying, the final Cylon wasn't with the fleet. That rules out most known characters, for e.g. Kara, and on the surface, it seems to point out to an unknown final person, perhaps a kind of puppet master (a possible, even probable answer, and the Final Cylon could even be "God" - though this would destroy the show's spiritual mythology if God isn't actually a god at all, and there's no destinity and higher power, just someone's machiavelic and universe spanning plan) However, I've wondered how De'Anna knew right away that the last one wasn't with the fleet and Galactica. This might be part of her vision. Or not... It seems obvious she's keeping an ace in her sleeve, in any case. I noticed she didn't admit/volunteer not knowing the face of the last one (but maybe she doesn't yet - the Opera House resolution is still coming), but the prophecy said she'd know the five. If it wasn't part of her vision that the final one isn't with Galactica, but she knows the identity of the final one and wasn't lying about the one not being with the fleet, then the obvious answer is that she knew the fifth wasn't with the fleet because he or she was... right by her side at the time, and obviously not awakened as he or she didn't come forward. So she respected the fact the time has not come for the last one to be revealed. Could it be down now to Adama, Roslyn, Gaius and "new character X" as the possible Final Cylon? They've long toyed with the possibility for Gaius to be a Cylon. Last week De'Anna made Roslyn believe for an instant she was part of the five, and this week she insisted to get Adama out of the Baseship before she fetched the four. This week, they've eliminated the fifth character they had toyed with as a possible Cylon: Kara. Another "dark horse" possibility that occured to me is that the last Cylon was actually killed in the original Cylon attack. In this case, a serious candidate for a plot twist would be Adama's wife as the Final Cylon, making Appolo, the next leader of humanity, the first born of the new hybrid race. Fitting for a character named after the son of Zeus. But I think I'd put my money on the admiral at this point...
