I am encouraged to overcome...
I was reading Numbers... it really struck me the parts about the children of Israel being delivered from Egypt, then once delivered they sinned; even then GOD gave them an opportunity to go the the land of Canaan. Ten of the twelve spies were scared of the giants in that land and did not want to fight; and the children of Israel actually asked would it not be better for us to return to Egypt!

Only two spies -- Caleb and Joshua were encouraged to do GOD's will:
Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, "Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it." Numbers 13:30
Joshua and Caleb spoke and said "If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, "a land which flows with milk and honey.Numbers 14:8

I am thankful that GOD has delivered me from this corruptible world. I am encouraged to know that when i am in the will of GOD that i am able to overcome the "giants" in my life and not to go running back to the corruptible world or to wander around aimlessly in "the wilderness". That in His will i will receive the blessings that He has planned for me.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

I'm sure this has been posted already but I'll post anyway. I also love the rain! Every time it rains it reminds me of that scripture that says He comes like the rain. Sometimes it rains a little, sometimes a lot. Sometimes we expect it and sometimes we don't, but regardless it's beautiful each and every time :) Kinda like my Jesus.

Encouraging words and inspiration?
Sounds biblical to me.
Here's a quote from a Christian song from a band that I think is called

I went through a period of time where I was not working and needed government assistance. It was for very different reasons than you, but what I learned was to stop multi-tasking and appreciate what God has done in my life. Even now, after a few years have passed, I still find those lessons learned during that time keep coming back to me ... valuable lessons that God taught me ... to enjoy the simple beauty of life and what He has done for me and continues to do for me.

I pray that your experience at this time of your life and what God wants to teach you will bless you for the remainder of your life.

I was thinking about this verse just yesterday as I was describing my experience in a Bible study recently. It was such a beautiful experience to be there ... as one body in Christ.

Yes, so encouraging. This passage reminds me of:

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

When we are singing praises together—giving thanks—we are "thinking about such things".

5 For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning.

Hallelujah, joy comes in the morning. By the grace of Almighty God we can always start over, every day is new and His favor lasts a lifetime. Praise the Lord for all of His encouraging words, boy do we need them sometimes.
